Freelance Project Manager

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Data Center Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects across Frankfurt. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing infrastructure, construction, fit-out, migration, and commissioning activities while coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data center projects from initiation through to handover.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and technical teams.

• Oversee construction, M&E, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular project reporting.

• Manage change control processes and project governance requirements.

• Support vendor management and procurement activities where required.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience delivering data center projects as a Project Manager.

• Strong understanding of critical infrastructure environments including:

• Power systems

• Cooling systems

• Network infrastructure

• Commissioning processes

• Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Fluent English.

• Must hold a valid EU Passport.

• Eligible to work across the European Union without sponsorship.

Desirable

• PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification.

• Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data centers.

• German language skills.

• Background in construction, engineering, mission-critical facilities, or IT infrastructure projects.

• Location: Frankfurt, Germany

• Contract Length: 12 Months Initial Contract

• Extension Potential: Yes

• Start Date: ASAP

• Working Pattern: Full-time

• Day Rate: Dependent on experience and project background
