Freelance AI & Robotics Developer – Bavaria – 12 Month Contract

We are supporting an innovative robotics company based in Bavaria on the next phase of their intelligent platform development. To strengthen the team, we’re seeking a Freelance AI & Robotics Specialist with experience in robotics software, AI workflows, and modular architectures. This role is available immediately.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of advanced AI-driven robotic systems
• Develop and integrate robot perception, motion planning, and control pipelines
• Containerize and orchestrate robotics services with Docker and Kubernetes
• Collaborate on system integration with ROS/ROS2 and hardware interfaces
• Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and deployment automation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Robotics or AI Developer, ideally in commercial or research settings
• Strong programming skills in Python (C++ experience in robotics contexts is a plus)
• Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes in robotics/production environments
• Solid understanding of robotics fundamentals (perception, kinematics, planning, sensor fusion)
• Strong communication skills in English (German is advantageous)

Logistics

• Location: Bavaria (Hybrid working, on-site collaboration preferred)
• Contract: 12 months
• Start: Immediately
• Hours: Full-time (~40 hours/week)
• Eligibility: Must have Permanent Residency in Germany or Right to Work in Europe
